Volunteer
The success of the Kid’s Place is highly dependent on volunteers. The fact is that it will not happen without them!
Everyone interested in volunteering in any position is required to attend a 90 minute informational session. The purpose of the informational session is to explain the components of the program, timing, volunteer opportunities and take a tour of the facilities.
If you would like to be a Coordinator or Facilitator, an additional 8 hour training is required.
Here is some information about the positions:
Coordinators
At least one coordinator is needed for each session.
They will lead the small group talking time with the children and be available during play time. This position requires a Masters degree in a social service field (e.g. Counseling, Social Work, Psychology etc.)
Facilitators
We will need MANY facilitators working directly with the children – facilitators will participate in the Talking Time. And, they will interact directly with the children during the play times.
There are pre and post meetings for the facilitators and coordinators, so the commitment will be for 3.5 hours twice a month.
The hours are 5:30 - 8:30 or (depending on post meeting time) for evening groups and 9:00-11:45 for morning groups.
Greeters and Food Prep
Welcome families as they come into the Kid’s Place, help them register, answer questions and help prepare snacks (we have a kitchen on site) etc.
Special Events
Help as projects and events happen. For example, we will have multiple Open Houses, Family Orientations, mailings etc. throughout the year.
